Tis the season to get your float on! The City of Lincoln City does their annual Glass Float drop in December where local artists drop off hand crafted glass ornamental pieces throughout the coast line here in Lincoln City. Hundreds of floats are dropped during the month of December, with extra Holiday themed ones being dropped during Christmas and New Year Eve. They are fun to search for whether you’re going solo, with your family, or with your pet! Make a game of it while you search for these hidden gems.
Pixies have a long tradition here in Lincoln City, and in celebration of that The North Lincoln County Historical Museum is opening their doors for children from 3:30pm to 5:30pm Dec 3rd - 4th to make their own Pixies! Each child will assemble a clay pixie head onto a body and dress the pixie in regalia including beads, jewels, feathers, and more. All art supplies are provided.
Come on in to Chinook Winds Casino Resort and participate in the judging of gorgeous trees and wreaths, enter raffles, and bid on a special wreath! Free admission to view trees on December 2nd- 4th from 12pm to 8pm and December 5th from 10am to 3pm.
This dazzling display starts the weekend of Dec 4th- 6th and will be running through December every Saturday and Sunday from 5:00pm to 8pm. Your breath will be taken away when over half a million colorful lights and holiday decorations surround you, and your family, as you explore the Aquarium after hours. And guess who will be there? Santa! That’s right, Santa will be there every night during the Sea of Lights until Christmas to pose for photos and to listen to visitor’s holiday wish lists!
Mid to late December is the best time to see these amazing gray whales during their southern migration to Mexico. You can book a whale watching expedition through one of our local charter boat operators, like Trade Winds, or you can explore the beach and watch for these majestic creatures as they breach right off the coastline. Whale watching is almost a sport here on the coast, so see if you can spot one of these amazing creatures for yourself!
Dress the kids in their pajamas and get ready to take a magical ride on a virtual journey to the North Pole! The kids will get all cozy and then settle down to watch North Pole Express with hot cocoa, cookies, and afterward Santa will be there with a special gift for each child, ages 3 – 11. North Pole Express “departs” at 5:45pm and “arrives” at 8pm Dec 11th.
Featuring the Lincoln Pops Orchestra from 8:30pm to Midnight at the Lincoln City Cultural Center. Your ticket includes light hors d’oeuvres and a champagne toast at midnight. Dance the night away, and before you know it, it will be 2016!
Ring in the New Year at the Casino! Dancing, good food, and a huge display to watch the ball drop from New York’s Time Square, what could be better? The doors to the convention center open at 9pm and you can party and dance until its 2016! Shuttles will be running every 30 minutes to The Inn at Wecoma and other lodging areas throughout the night to ensure everyone can usher in the New Year safely!
