Just the mention of October brings the thought of Halloween, costumes, candy, and horror movies. It seems we spend all month long preparing for the last day of the month, and in the chaos we forget that the month of October is also commonly associated with the Harvest season. There are thirty more days in October to enjoy beyond Halloween, and with Halloween seemingly beginning the chaos of the rest of the holiday season – from Thanksgiving to New Years – it’s important to remind ourselves to take a breath, look around and enjoy what the rest of the month offers.
February is a busy and exciting time here in Lincoln City. First we have Antique week which starts 2/5/2016 through Presidents Day 2/15/2016. Winter whale watching is an enjoyable pastime on the Central Oregon Coast. Lincoln County offers spectacular vantage points to spot some of the migrating grey whales offshore. Winter on the Oregon Coast is also a wonderful time for storm watching. After the storms there are always a trove of treasures to be found on the area beaches. New tide pools form, and interesting shells and agates wash up for the beach combers’ delight. Make sure to bring your binoculars and prepare for mother nature to put on a show for you while in Lincoln City.
Tis the season to get your float on! The City of Lincoln City does their annual Glass Float drop in December where local artists drop off hand crafted glass ornamental pieces throughout the coast line here in Lincoln City.
Everyone loves going to the beach in Lincoln City and looking for the beautiful glass floats to take home to show off. You’re in luck! Starting October 17th Finders keepers on the beach is starting up again. Make your way to the Oregon coast beaches to start your scavenger hunt before everyone else does. You will want to be here first because they will be putting out 50 extra glass floats, 50 glass art pieces, and a jumbo float with a weekend getaway package!

SUMMER KITE FESTIVAL, JUNE 27-28, 2015
June is such a wonderful month here on the Oregon Coast. The weather’s getting warmer, the days are at their longest, and there is no shortage of activities to keep you and the family entertained. Most notably in June is the semiannual Kite Festival.
February may not be the nicest month weather-wise on the Oregon coast, but there certainly isn’t a lack of things to do in Lincoln City, especially over Valentine’s Day. For those lucky enough to have Presidents Day off on Monday the 16th, Valentine’s Day is the start of a three day weekend. Showing our appreciation for loved ones should be a yearlong occasion, but a long weekend at the coast is a great way to go that extra step.
Annual Antique Week February 7th – February 16th
It is that time of year again for the annual Lincoln City Antique week. Come and enjoy this ten daylong event starting Saturday February 7th and ending Monday February 16th.
It is that time of year where gray whales make one of their longest migrations. The Gray Whales are on their way to Mexico, travelling from the Bering Sea, to give birth. They travel over 5,000 miles to the shallow lagoons where the females will stay for 3 months allowing the calves to gain weight and be safe from hungry Orcas.
It’s become a Lincoln City tradition every February – Antique Week! The week is so popular, it’s actually 10 days long – from February 7 to 17 this year.
Those long walks on the beach have their special charm in the winter. A dusting of snow this past week gave the shoreline a new look. Come down and enjoy a quiet beach - and after you return to your cozy Inn at Wecoma room, you can take the chill off in our inviting hot tub or sauna!
Lincoln City is a beautiful place to spend Thanksgiving. Several restaurants in town will be offering traditional Thanksgiving dinners.
Lincoln City’s Float Fairies are out and about, leaving treasures on the beach for anyone to find. Locally made glass floats are placed on the beach every day as a treat for visitors. Come take a look and try your luck.
Okay, okay … the eclipse won’t occur until 2017 but the Inn at Wecoma just received its first inquiry for rooms … and it came from Australia! (“We hope we’re not too late,” they said, as they asked for beds for 25 people!)

Let's be frank: November at the coast tends to be pretty gray. The sun sets early in overcast skies, and rain gear is strongly recommended. But Oregonians like to play in the rain. Rowdy ocean waves can be a spectacular site for beachcombers, and who can say what might wash up on the beach. This is a great time for agate hunters and quiet walks.

October is a wonderful time to visit Lincoln City and the Oregon coast. The weather is usually mild, and there's still a lot of sun – but, hey, a little bit of rain won't hurt you either. In fact, if you're LUCKY enough to be here for a good storm, you can join some hardy stormwatchers at the beach to watch spectacular waves crashing into the shore.

This year's whale watching week will begin on December 26th through January 1st. Every year, upwards of 150 volunteers will be posted from 10am – 1pm at official whale watching spots, where visitors have the best chance of seeing Pacific Grey Whales. About a 12 mile drive outside of the center of Lincoln City, you'll find an amazing hiking trail called Drift Creek Falls. By far one of the Northwest favorite hiking trails on the coast, Drift Creek falls is a 3 mile roundtrip hike to a breathtaking 80 foot waterfall.
